Multiple Sessions

Updated: May 5

Tattoo Removal Isn’t a One-and-Done — Here’s Why

We get this question a lot:“How many sessions will I need?”The honest answer? Probably more than you think.

Laser Removal Takes Time — and There’s a Reason

Your tattoo wasn’t created in a single day. And removing it is a process, not a magic trick.

The laser — like our Hollywood Spectra — works by breaking the ink into tiny fragments. But your body is the one doing the hard part: gradually flushing those fragments out through your lymphatic system. That takes weeks between each session, and not all the ink clears at once.

So How Many Sessions?

Most tattoos take 6 to 10 sessions, sometimes more depending on:

  • Ink color and depth

  • Tattoo age and location

  • Your skin tone and immune response

  • Whether it’s professional or amateur work

Sessions are spaced 8 weeks apart minimum to give your body time to process and recover.

Can It Be Faster?

Pushing sessions too close together can actually slow things down. The key is consistency and patience — not aggression. Removal is safest and most effective when your skin and immune system are ready.

The Bottom Line

Laser tattoo removal isn’t a one-hit wonder. It’s a partnership between you, your laser technician, and your body. When you give the process time, you’ll get the best, healthiest results.
